In 1994 a Franciscan Friary was discovered underneath the Downtown area of Aalborg. The Museum is underground because no one was willing to sell land above ground in the area.
Phillips from USA found oil on a shelf in Norway on 12/23/69. They were looking since 1963. Most energy in Norway is wind and water.
Workers in oil work for 2 weeks and stay home for 4 weeks. 7% work directly in oil and 80% of the jobs are indirectly touched by oil production.

The Hanseatic League lived here; there were 2,000 merchants. Norway became an independent country in 1905. There are 5.3 million people in Norway with 230,000 in Bergen. Viking time in Norway was 793 to 13th century.
