Bergen 4 - Farm Life

The first picture is the barn and the third picture is a meeting room the farmer built in place of the hay loft.

The second and fourth pictures are the house started in 1540. The fifth picture shows the first room built in this house.

This Farm was started in 1540. Part of the house is from that time and more has been added since. Notice the grass on the roof. It is trimmed by goats. Many outside buildings are topped by grass roofs, but living residences are prohibited from having grass roofs due to being a potential fire damage. This farm had horses, sheep, goats, and chickens.
