Copenhagen 2 - Mermaid, Energy and Opera

Little Mermaid based on Hans Christian Anderson was created over 900 years ago. This statue is in commemoration of Anderson.

The Strange shaped building is an energy plant that burns garbage. They use Denmark garbage and have even asked for garbage from Sweden. The slope of the roof is soon to be used as a ski hill; very innovative! But 60% of Denmark's energy is from windmills.

The Opera Building is quite new.

This Farm was started in 1540. Part of the house is from that time and more has been added since. Notice the grass on the roof. It is trimmed by goats. Many outside buildings are topped by grass roofs, but living residences are prohibited from having grass roofs due to being a potential fire damage. This farm had horses, sheep, goats, and chickens.
