Peterhof Outside of Petersburg

We traveled about an hour outside of Petersburg to go to Peterhof, an estate used by the czars to entertain their guests. I wish I could tell you how many rooms were in the estate, but all I can tell you is the elegance just went on and on. These are just a few pictures of the inside of the estate.

This Farm was started in 1540. Part of the house is from that time and more has been added since. Notice the grass on the roof. It is trimmed by goats. Many outside buildings are topped by grass roofs, but living residences are prohibited from having grass roofs due to being a potential fire damage. This farm had horses, sheep, goats, and chickens.
