Baltic Cruise 2019

The land around Bergen includes a lot of water. It's so beautiful!

Bergen is the City of the seven mountains. Until the 18thcentury, Bergen was the largest city in Norway. It was also the capital in the 13th century. The Hanseatic League lived here; there were 2,000 merchants. Norway became an independent country in 1905. There are 5.3 million people in Norway with 230,000 in Bergen. Viking time in Norway was 793 to 13th century.

We walked around beautiful Eidfjord. Maggie was itching to touch northern water. We are not sure to call it Baltic or North Sea.

Tonight we were entertained with Beatles songs; it was fantastic!

We pulled out of the Eidfjord port just as we started dinner; we had a great dinner view! The scenery was fantastic and we could watch well past midnight as the sun never seemed to completely set.

A few dinner items - Crusted Soft Shell Crab for a starter and Lobster with Mushrooms. This was a Surf and Turf night. We also shared a delicious Medium Rare Prime Rib. And for desert an Orange Soufflé. Yum! And June is looking very special tonight!

Take a look at the goats trimming the roof! This is us goofing around in the Naturescenter. We watched a fantastic movie about Norway before the touring; I bought the dvd.
